【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofrelative(Note0)complexpermittivity(dielectricconstantanddissipationfactor)ofnonmagneticsoliddielectricmaterials.Note0Theword"relative"isoftenomitted.TestMethodAisforspecimenspreciselyformedtotheinsidedimensionofawaveguide.TestMethodBisforspecimensofspecifiedgeometrythatoccupyaverysmallportionofthespaceinsidearesonantcavity.TestMethodCusesaresonantcavitywithfewerrestrictionsonspecimensize,geometry,andplacementthanTestMethodsAandB.Althoughthesemethodsareusedoverthemicrowavefrequencyspectrumfromaround0.5to50.0GHz,eachoctaveincreaseusuallyrequiresadifferentgeneratorandasmallertestwaveguideorresonantcavity.Testsatelevatedtemperaturesaremadeusingspecialhigh-temperaturewaveguideandresonantcavities.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
